Our Mission
The Claremont N.H. Historical Society will preserve and promote the public celebration
and reflection of the history of Claremont, N.H., through educational offerings, events,
and museum exhibits.
Our Vision
The preservation of stories of the past will help propel the Claremont of today into a better future through research, education, and shared knowledge. The Claremont community will understand how history shapes their lives in the present and cements their part of Claremont’s history. CHS will develop educational programs as well as host permanent, rotating and traveling displays for the community’s pleasure. We will preserve Claremont’s most precious resource – the stories of its citizens – to share with the community. We will engage in teaching and learning opportunities in our museum as well as around Claremont. Our continued goal will be to establish an updated design, well maintained building and grounds with ease of access, safety and protection for all persons and artifacts.
Our Values
The values of the Claremont N.H. Historical Society will be:
Value | Description |
---|---|
Dignity, Respect, and Integrity | Communicate with our community and its residents with kindness, honesty, and transparency. |
Cultural Humility | To believe that history cannot be contained within a single story or point of view. |
Authenticity | Will honor the community’s heritage and cultural attributes. |
Civic Responsibility | Promote activities that will support town, state, and national values. |
Education | Historical society and museums use exhibits, programs, and facilities to encourage lifelong learning. |
